Privacy Policy

Paramedic Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) in order to address, as an organization, the proper handling of personal data based on the “Act on the Protection of Personal Information” (Act No. 57 of 2003; hereinafter referred to as the “Act on the Protection of Personal Information”). The definitions of terms not otherwise defined in this Policy shall follow the definitions set forth in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations.

Article 2 (Compliance with Relevant Laws, Regulations, and Guidelines)

The Company handles personal information appropriately in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations, as well as the guidelines of the Personal Information Protection Commission and other guidelines.

Article 3 (Acquisition of Personal Information)

When acquiring personal information, the Company will publicly announce or notify the purpose of use (including public announcement through this Policy), and when acquiring personal information stated in a contract or other document (including electromagnetic records) directly from the individual, the Company will specify the purpose of use in advance and acquire such information by lawful and fair means.

The Company may acquire special-care-required personal information (names of injuries and diseases, symptoms, treatment details, treatment progress, medical history, residual disabilities, etc.; the same shall apply hereinafter). In such cases, in addition to the procedures set forth in the preceding paragraph, the Company will obtain the prior consent of the individual (including consent to this Policy).

Article 4 (Purpose of Use of Personal Information)

Each item of personal information provided to us will be used only within the necessary scope for the purposes set forth below.

Personal information received from those who use the services provided by the Company (hereinafter referred to as “Users”)

  • (1) Assistance to the User, or explanation of the medical condition to the User’s attendant and to the hospital, carried out in order to safely transport the User in the patient transport service operated by the Company
  • (2) Responding to, confirming, and recording inquiries, consultations, and support requests regarding the Company’s services
  • (3) Providing information on services, campaigns, etc. by means of informational notices, email, and the like

Personal information received from those who have made various inquiries

  • Responding to various inquiries

Personal information received from those who have cooperated with surveys

  • Improving and enhancing the quality of various services

Personal information concerning shareholders

  • Exercise of rights and performance of obligations based on the Companies Act
  • Management of shareholders, including the creation of records based on various laws and regulations

Personal information received from applicants in recruitment and hiring activities

  • Communication with and provision of information to applicants in recruitment and hiring activities, and other uses necessary for recruitment and hiring activities

Personal information received from all officers, employees, part-time workers, temporary staff, and all other persons who are currently engaged in, or have in the past been engaged in, the business of the Company and its affiliated companies (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Company Group”) (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Employees, etc.”)

  • (1) Business communications, etc. with Employees, etc.
  • (2) Payment of remuneration (wages, bonuses, various allowances, etc.) to Employees, etc., performance of personnel and labor management, and provision of employee benefits
  • (3) Health management of Employees, etc.

Article 5 (Change of Purpose of Use)

The Company will change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably recognized that the changed purpose has a relevance to the purpose before the change.

When the purpose of use is changed, the Company will notify or publicly announce the changed purpose by a method designated by the Company.

Article 6 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the individual. However, this excludes the following cases.

  • (1) When the Company outsources part of the personal information handling operations to an external party within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
  • (2) When provision is requested based on laws and regulations
  • (3) When it is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain consent
  • (4) When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain consent
  • (5) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national government body, a local government, or the like in carrying out affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining consent is likely to impede the execution of such affairs

Article 7 (Matters Concerning Security Control Measures)

In order to prevent risks such as leakage, loss, or damage of personal data and to manage it appropriately, the Company implements necessary and appropriate technical and physical management measures, and provides necessary and appropriate supervision and education to its Employees, etc. In addition, when the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal data, it provides necessary and appropriate supervision over the contractor (including sub-contractors, etc.). Security control measures for personal data are specifically set forth separately in the “Regulations on the Handling of Personal Information, etc.”

Article 8 (Request for Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information)

When there is a request for inquiry, correction, suspension of use, deletion, etc. of personal data, the Company will, after confirming that the requester is the individual concerned through procedures designated by the Company, respond promptly. If you have any questions regarding this Policy or wish to exercise your rights, please contact the contact desk set forth in Article 11.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

The Company will review this Policy and its personal data management system as appropriate and continuously improve them. When using the Company’s site, please review this Policy periodically.

In addition, when an important change is made, such as a change in the content of personal information acquired or a change in the method of use, such change shall take effect from the time it is announced by being posted on the Company’s site.

Article 11 (Enforcement)

This Policy shall take effect on October 6, 2023.
